The Story
Behind
Mindful
Whispers
Mindful Whispers wasn’t just a name—it was a calling. For Lisa Rider, whispers have always been a part of her life, from the rustling of pines at her family’s camp to the way spirit speaks in the quiet moments. Her father’s favorite song, Whispering Pines, planted the seed, but it was years of intuitive nudges, animal connections, and energy work that brought it to life.
Whispers aren’t just soft sounds—they’re messages, signs, and soul-level conversations. Whether it’s spirit gently guiding, an animal sharing its story, or the quiet power of an intuitive touch, Lisa has learned that the most profound truths are often the ones that don’t need to be shouted. When it came time to name her practice, there was no other choice.
Mindful Whispers is a space for healing, connection, and transformation—where energy moves, spirits speak, and those who are ready to listen will hear exactly what they need.
Lisa Rider doesn’t just talk about energy—she lives it. A straight-shooting, intuitive Reiki Master and animal communicator, Lisa has spent a lifetime bridging the gap between the seen and unseen, often with a little sass and a whole lot of heart. Her journey started young, fueled by a deep love for animals and her mom’s unwavering belief that she could do anything. Inspired by Dr. Dolittle, Lisa didn’t just dream of talking to animals—the universe made damn sure she would.
Reiki found Lisa in 2012, but let’s be real—she’d been doing energy work long before she knew what to call it. Since then, she’s been attuned ten times (because why stop at one?), tracing her lineage just seven generations from Mikao Usui himself. She’s trained with incredible teachers like Cindy Brody, Mitch Adams, and Lana Ryder, layering her practice with sound healing, tuning forks, and an intuitive edge that can’t be taught.
Animals have always been her first love, and she has an uncanny ability to connect just by looking into their eyes—seeing their stories, their past, and what they need. But spirit had bigger plans, nudging her toward mediumship, where she now delivers messages from the other side with the same no-BS, deeply compassionate approach that defines her work.
Then there’s Gettysburg. Lisa wasn’t just drawn to it—she was called. The whispers of history, the pull of the land, the way everything in her life lined up to bring her here in 2021—it was destiny. Since arriving, her gifts have exploded, and she’s found a community that gets her, supports her, and sometimes even sees what she sees.
Loss has been a teacher, too. When Lisa’s mom passed in 1998, it cracked open a door she couldn’t ignore. Mediumship became more than just a possibility—it was a calling. Now, every reading, every Reiki session, every whisper from spirit confirms what she’s always known: this is what she was meant to do.
When she’s not channeling messages, working with clients, or making skeptics believers, you’ll find Lisa painting, journaling, or wandering the battlefield, soaking in the energy of a place where past and present constantly intertwine. And always by her side? Sapphire, her ride-or-die pup, whose journey to Lisa was marked by too much serendipity to be coincidence.
Lisa Rider doesn’t do fluff, doesn’t do gimmicks, and doesn’t need to prove a damn thing. Through Mindful Whispers, she helps others hear what’s always been there—the messages, the guidance, the healing—waiting in the space between worlds.

A Few Things You Might Not Know
(But Probably Should)
– I’ve been proudly owned by German Shepherds for over 45 years. If you know, you know.
– Once upon a time, I taught obedience classes for KayMont School of Dog Obedience in Clinton, NY… then decided to do things my way and launched my own dog training school in the mid-80s. Sit. Stay. Manifest.
– In 2004, I made a lifelong dream come true and bought my first horse—then added three more to the herd. They’ve since crossed the rainbow bridge, but those hoofprints are still on my heart.
– Fun detour: I was once a licensed cosmetologist. So yes, I can read your aura and give you a solid cut and color.
– Believe it or not, I loved working in the fraud department at a major financial institution. There’s something deeply satisfying about sniffing out lies (on paper and in energy).
– I’ve got a thing for classic cars. A ’68 Chevy Camaro is still revving its engine on my bucket list.
– Creative downtime? Yes, please. You’ll find me woodburning, crocheting, painting, wandering the Gettysburg battlefield, or hopping in the car for a spontaneous road trip.
– I have a bit of a battlefield obsession. Revolutionary War sites are my absolute favorite (Fort Stanwix, Fort William Henry, Fort Ticonderoga, Fort Klock, Fort Herkimer, Cherry Valley—you get the idea). It’s not just history—it’s the romance of freedom.
– Civil War sites like Gettysburg, Antietam, and Manassas speak to me in a different way. That’s the spiritual pull. The whispers run deep here.
– My girl Sapphire (yes, she’s a dog) was a soul gift from my very first shepherd, Apache. She found me when I wasn’t looking, on a day I’ll never forget.
– One more? I once had to dive into a bathtub to avoid gunfire while managing an apartment highrise. Yep, I’ve lived a few lives. And yes, I always carry my phone now.
